What data we collect

When you register, we store your email, username, and a hash of your password (the password itself is never stored in plain text). While using the site, we store your watch progress, anime list, and any reviews or comments you write.

Technically, we receive your IP address and country via Cloudflare — this is used for abuse protection (rate limiting) and geo-specific features (e.g. only showing Yandex Metrica to visitors from Russia). We also use cookies: one for staying logged in, and one for remembering your cookie-consent choice.

Cookies and analytics

Strictly necessary cookies (login session, cookie consent) are always set — the site can't function correctly without them.

With your consent, we may load Google Analytics (for all visitors) and Yandex Metrica (for visitors from Russia only) — both help us understand how the site is used. You can withdraw consent at any time by declining the cookie banner again or clearing your browser's cookies.

Third-party playback services

AniCat does not store or host video itself — playback happens through embedded players from third-party services (Kodik, MoonAnime). These services are independent of AniCat, may set their own cookies, and are not covered by this policy — please review their own terms separately.

How we use your data

Data is used to run the service (your list, watch progress, cross-device sync, social features), improve the site (analytics), and prevent abuse.

Sharing data with third parties

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. Data is only processed by services necessary to run the site (hosting, analytics, Cloudflare) under their own privacy policies.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account in settings — your profile data will be hidden, though public content (reviews, comments) may remain without being tied to your account, to keep discussions intact. For full data erasure, email us at the address below.

Your rights

You may request access to your data, correction, deletion, or withdraw consent for analytics — at any time, by writing to the contact address below.
